I am so proud of this Parisian-inspired editorial that I put together in collaboration with my friend Katrina of K. Saw Weddings! While planning, we were deeply inspired by the Chanel runway show of 2021. We wanted to recreate the chic look of Parisian bridal portraits right here in the heart of San Francisco, and we couldn’t have found a better location than Wayfare Tavern.
Prior to this editorial, I already knew of Wayfare since it’s one of my favorite post-city hall ceremony locations for hosting an intimate reception. I mean, do I really need to remind everyone of how amazing their cocktails are? Besides that, Wayfare’s exterior is gorgeously Parisian, featuring black-and-white striped awnings and old-fashioned lamps. It really helped us to achieve the look we were going for, as did the bride’s Rime Arodaky ensemble.
You might be noticing that I didn’t use the word gown, and that’s because the bride’s gown for this editorial was actually a jumpsuit! Structured and unexpected, yet airy and feminine, it had all of the European flair we were looking for. I would love for more brides to consider wearing a jumpsuit on their special day, rather than a gown. It’s a fun and statement-making alternative for those who are fashion-forward!
As she walked down the street, I loved how our bride turned so many heads. She even stopped traffic at one point because no one could take their eyes off how gracefully her outfit flowed. She carried herself with such grace and confidence, and was a Parisian bride through and through!
I’m also so happy to announce that this editorial was featured in the print publication Tatler Magainze UK, in their January 2022 issue. Check out the cover and our feature!
I hope you enjoy browsing these images from Katrina and I’s Parisian-inspired editorial. Last year I had the opportunity to shoot an engagement session in Paris, and it was one of the highlights of my career as a photographer! I’d love for you to check out those images.
